The Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI) last Friday announced Killsallagh by Aughey O’Flaherty Architects, as the winner of Connacht House of the Year at the 2017 RIAI Irish Architecture Awards. Students from 4th class at Cregmore national school recently visited the research vessel RV Celtic Explorer as part of their marine-science and art project building up to SeaFest, Ireland’s national maritime festival. The project places art, marine science and technology in the heart of the classroom where the students have been learning about marine life and activity under the sea for the past six months. It involves TULCA in partnership with Marine Institute Explorers Education Programme, artist Louise Manifold, marine scientist Dr. Andy Wheeler, and Cregmore National School.

Mayo Gaelic footballers Aidan O’Shea, Lee Keegan, and Colm Boyle feature in a new tourism video released online this week. The video follows the players as they embark on a road trip along the Wild Atlantic Way in Mayo. It is the second production in the Wild Mayo series of five tourism films, commissioned by Mayo.ie. In the film, the three men revisit Belmullet, the location of a memorable training camp as part of the Mayo senior football team. They discuss their past experiences and visit some old familiar faces along the way.
